Publisher's green cloth binding, with unique illustration in gilt, black and beige on front. Moderate rubbing, small spots. 238 pages with 58 in line illustrations by the author and 7 pages of publisher advertisements in the back. Daniel Carter Beard (1850-1941) was an illustrator, author and social reformer. He was very involved in the early years of the Boy Scouts of America. This volume contains two allegorical stories about social justice. The first edition of this book was published in 1892.
