About the Author:

Jean Yarger is an educator, wife, mother, author, avid gardener with over 25 years experience in business administration and human resources. It was her experience as co-founder of a Wisconsin based pharmaceutical company that caused Jean to become passionate about helping people learn to succeed through other people. As Jean puts it, “You can have the most innovative new idea in the world, but the minute your success is determined by how other people perform, your passion becomes people.” Jean recognized that her company’s management team was comprised of highly trained, intelligent professionals who were deficient in the skills needed to create success through people. There was no continuity or respect between departments. The performance assessment program hindered rather than facilitated real-time behavioral changes and no one was willing to put their personal goals aside for the organizations success. Jean tried the standard means for improving management’s leadership skills, but none of it seemed to identify the real issues or change behavior. Then Jean observed the “critters” in her garden communicating so simply – so effectively. It occurred to her that the issues, problems and critters in her garden were the same issues, problems and people in her organization. The difference being that in the garden, the issues seemed less confusing and performance problems were more easily addressed. Why? Because excuses and blame where not allowed and everyone knew what was important, why it was important and how they were going to keep it important. Mornings with Jenkins, the Tale of a Successful Leader is the compilation of all the people, managers, issues and experiences Jean has encountered over the years. It is the tale of people we have all worked with and the individual who learns to lead them. Ms. Yarger is currently the Chief Administrative Officer of ENDECE, LLC, a biotech drug discovery and development company and, second company co-founded by Jean and her husband. In addition to her duties as CAO Jean consults with business leaders, individuals and organizations looking to increase their influence and effectively lead with confidence. Jean is the mother of two sons, has one granddaughter and loves sitting in her garden with her husband of 37 years.

Store Description

Sharing is the best surprise When we share our excess with others we¿re often surprised by what we feel, what changes in us, and who we get to know in the process. Sharehouse Goods exists to create that experience for as many people as possible. Sharehouse Goods receives excess stuff from individuals or organizations (our sharers), and then we liquidate that stuff, creating jobs for people in Milwaukee. The process is simple: we receive what people are willing to share, and then we sell it online or at our storefront, creating revenue for the sharers (to keep or to donate), and jobs for people who are struggling to find employment. There¿s a lot of sharing going on, and even more surprises, at Sharehouse Goods.
