Near Fine in Very Good DJ/: Dj exhibits two small chips at top of spine and one small-1/4" closed tear at top right corner rear panel. Small scrape and rubbing to spine also. Cloth boards pristine. Text itself clean, bright & unmarked. Frontis; Preface; Index. xiii; 138pp. "Robert Louis Stevenson became known to the American reading public because of a summer spent in rural California. There he found a rich, new fund of literary material; there he waded 'deeper in the tide of life." His writing gained in vigor and realism, and his success became assured. The author and his bride retired to the Silverado country to a deserted bunkhouse beside an abandoned mine.where he found new impetus for his writing' (from DJ flap.)
