About this title

Synopsis:

A guide to the cities where Mozart lived, worked, and performed discusses the sites associated with him, the music he composed there, and other biographical details, as well as providing current travel and tourist information

From Library Journal:

Of the variety of publications inspired by the Mozart bicentennial, this is certainly the most unusual. Wignall, a pianist and music instructor, has compiled a tour directory to every place Mozart visited. He provides addresses, dates, remarks about the present condition of the site and environs in comparison to what Mozart would have experienced, a list of compositions he may have performed or composed there, and even a Michelin Guide -type star system ranking the "importance" of the location. Wignall does not define "importance," but he seems to connote interest to the tourist rather than historical significance. Entries are short, fact filled, and footnoted as to the source. For the Mozart fan who has everything.
