Synopsis: Myrtle Fillmore was a pioneer in Christian metaphysics. Her successful use of affirmative prayer inspired her husband Charles to pursue metaphysical thought as well. This biography of the dynamic cofounder of Unity gives a moving account of Myrtle's life and the history of the Unity movement. It was researched, written, and edited over a two-year period. The author, Thomas E. Witherspoon, pored over thousands of documents, letters, and articles by or about Mrs. Fillmore; visited every area where she lived; and talked to many people who knew her personally. This insightful volume also includes some of Myrtle's personal thoughts, favorite affirmations, and samples of her inspiring poetry.
About the Author: Thomas E. Witherspoon is a Unity minister who now serves at Unity at the Lake in South Lake Tahoe, California. Witherspoon was formerly a newspaper editor and publisher, as well as an editor at Unity School of Christianity. Among the numerous magazines to which he has contributed articles are Daily Word, Unity Magazine, and Wee Wisdom. He also wrote The Peace That Passes All Misunderstanding, published by Unity Books in 1988.
