About this Item

Very good in worn dust jacket. This is a presentation copy inscribed and signed by MacKaye, "My very dear friends, This to you in remembrance of your loving and helpful interest in the publication of this work during years of great difficulty. With the love of your devoted Percy MacKaye Christmas, 1950." Laid into this copy are the publisher's announcement of the publication of this book, the January, 1954 issue of The National Arts Club Bulletin of the performance of MacKaye's Hamlet, with the author starring as Yorick, and a clipping of a poem of MacKaye's, Autumn Evening, from the New York Herald Tribune of November 11, 1953.
