7.5 x 11.5 inches. hardcover, slipcase. 44 pages. Illustrations by Gaylord Schanilec. Limited to 250 signed and numbered copies. Illustrations include eight full page color wood engravings and three vignettes by Gaylord Schanilec, one of the leading contemporary woodcut artists. This work was designed by the illustrator and printed by him at his press, Midnight Paper Sales. The Grolier Club first published New York in 1915 with color woodcut engravings by Rudolph Ruzicka. The author of the current work, two and one half years in preparation, builds on the material in the edition of 1915, examining New York's development through nearly ninety years since the publication of the first work. He seeks to portray both continuous transformation and continuity in the city's development. Illustrations include a number of noteworthy New York landmarks. Bookseller Inventory # 106646
