Large 8vo, in the publisher's original brown cloth with all-over cover and spine decorations in black, gray and green in a Maori inspired motif, gilt lettering on both upper cover and spine as well. ix, 241 pp. A very handsome and very well preserved copy, the decorated cloth bright and clean, the text very clean, the plates all very fine, small score to the front free endpaper. FIRST EDITION AND A VERY UNCOMMON ENTRY IN THIS WONDERFUL PAINTED AND DESCRIBED SERIES. The text is by New Zealand's High Commissioner and the 75 plates by William and Frank Wright bring one very close to this far away land.
