Collection of 11 photographs taken during the building of Zakarpattia Oblast Railway Network between Nagyberezna and Uzsok (today: ??????? ???????? [Velikij Bereznij] ???? [Uzhok]). This 40 km part of the network was finished in 1905. This line was built mostly for military purposes, and not for commercial as the other railroads between Hungary and Galicia. Due to the highland area there are several bridges, viaducts (7) and tunnels (6) on the railroad. These photos are showing the works at Csorbadomb, near Uzsok: the querry and the mining carts on the temporary wooden viaduct, the entrance and the building process of the tunnel at Uzsok. There is an image of the architects and investors of the project captured at the entrance of the tunnel while posing on a draisine. . Stained, slightly faded. Some edges broken, one torn. Overall in good condition.
