SUBTITLED ; ` A History '. Tarentaise is a breed of French cow common in the Savoie since 1861.The original Tarentaise was a mountain-hardy breed, largely kept for its milk and butter production. In 1972 some Fort Macleod Alberta area farmers imported Alpin - a Tarentaise bull - the first in North America. From this beginning grew the American Tarentaise Association (ATA) which is the source of this 98 page book. Author's bio and fold-out map at back. B/W photographs complement text.
