About this Item

72 pp. Illustrated. 16mo. Yellow illustrated printed paper wraps First American Edition. Claims to be the "only complete American, from the fiftieth London edition." Illustration of Napoleon after the battle of Leipsic (sic!) on the cover and title page. Publisher's ads on verso of rear cover. In his preface, the publisher claims this to be the largest, most detailed and most original edition (verbatim from the London edition except for modification of vocabulary to American usage), a classic of the occult and oracular vade mecums. Alleged to have been used by Napoleon, alas imperfectly to his detriment. Book Source Magazine calls this a European version of the I Ching. The book answers questions on a man's fiancée, imprisonment, life expectancy, gambling, prospective wealth and fame, dreams, recovery from illness, friends and enemies. etc. Covers slightly dusty with minor chipping at ends of spine and at corners. Else, Very Good +. Bookseller Inventory # 6242
