Dark green cloth boards have blind-stamped and gilt decorations on the covers, gilt lettering and decorations on the spine. All edges gilt. Covers are a bit dust soiled and rubbed, lower extremities and corners a bit bumped and a trifle worn. Spine is rubbed along the outer joints, starting at head and foot. Head of spine is bumped and rubbed, foot is chipped and a little worn. Former owner's name and date (1848) appear in the upper right corner of the ffep. Endpp. and prelims are a trifle darkened and/or have some very light foxing. Text is clean, binding is sound and tight. Nice copy, despite aesthetic flaws mentioned. Digital image available.
