Well-illustrated oversized paperback history of the Boston, Revere Beach & Lynn Railroad (BRB&L), a narrow-gauge line which served Winthrop (the Winthrop Loop, which went all the way to Point Shirley), East Boston, Revere, and Lynn. With dozens of rare photographs and records (the railroad's own archives were ordered burned by a dimwit federal judge), and maps. Pocket inside back cover contains 22 1/2" x 17 1/2" folded poster/shematic of the Mason-Bogie Locomotive; 16" x 10" poster of the Passenger Coach; also, a color brochure for the Boston Street Railway Association. In Very Good condition with only some soiling around the lower portion of the spine, a few small rubbed spots in the same area, and a label ghost next to the title [see photo]; otherwise an excellent copy with no writing, marks or other defects. LAID IN: Seven (7) 8"x10" glossy photos used in the production of this book, 6 of which were used in the book. Prints are circa 1978-80. Includes scenes of locomotives, the Orient Heights Yards. the Winthrop Loop, the Boston Ferry Terminal at Rowe's Wharf. a loco emerging from the Jeffries Point tunnel. All in excellent condition.
