About this Item

no date. Presumed circa 1868-69 based on OCLC records. 4 page pamphlet. A short piece arguing in favor of temperance or the prohibition of alcohol, asserting that man does not have the right to do as he wishes, as all rights are derived from God, who intended for man to live in society. As such, drinking harms society and goes against God. The piece also states the the government is divinely derived, and so should legislate according to God's wishes. GOOD condition. A 1/2 inch semicircular piece torn from the upper fore edge of all pages. General browning and minor soiling. Light dampstaining along the top edge. Bookseller Inventory # 007874
