About this Item

The author believes the true genius must combine "unselfishness with a nearly unworldly outlook on life." Most inventors do not qualify, he holds, because they are merely "clever engineers or chemists," whose "main interest lies in the monetary reward." Because he offers few specifics, it's not clear if he means Tesla was a genius while Edison was not, or quite where Leonardo would fall. "Another attribute of a work of genius is refinement, good taste," the author offers, expressing a taste for the music of Haydn. One presumes Napoleon Bonaparte and Henry Miller might thus fail to make the cut. 206 pp. including index. Reduced from $20. Bookseller Inventory # 004528
