About this Item

"Darina Siv was born in Komping Rokar, a village in western Cambodia, in 1957. Growing up, she enjoyed the pleasures of village life-playing wqith friends, picking mangoes and jackfruit, lying on the branch of her favorite tamarind tree.In high school, she began to wrote stories and was thrilled when a national radio station broadcast several of them.Arriving in the United States in 1981, Darina married, started a family, earned a degree in social work, and established a career helping other Cambodian refugees. In NEVER COME BACK, she tells about her life during the Communist regime and explores what it means to be a nontraditional Cabodian woman. It is the story of a woman who can never go home, and a testament to the power of hope and human connection in the face of brutality." This book has 193 pages and is illustrated. The book is a SIGNED copy from the author, Darina Siv. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 065664
