216 pages. The felicitously named McMillion taught high school in Fairbanks from 1931 to 1933 and spent the next several years writing guides to the territory while he was working as the head of the geography department at Concord State Teachers College in Athens, West Virginia. This book is reproduced from typescript and contains much factual detail. There are a number of plates, some color, and two folding maps, one backed with a color plate. First edition (first printing). Copy has a typed presentation slip from the author tipped in to the front, which may explain why this copy does not quite conform to the standard format for the book. Rather than have the folding maps in a pocket at the back, this copy has them tipped onto the back of illustrations in the text. There is also an extra color plate, opposite page 43, of an unidentified mountain and lake scene. The maps may have originally been in a pocket at the back, as there is glue residual there, but the glue used to tip them into their current location appears to be of similar vintage to that used to make up the book, suggesting that placement of the maps was made prior to presentation. Two nickel-sized spots on the front cover, else very good in wrappers. A nice copy of a scarce book. Bookseller Inventory # 77918
