TRAVER'S BOOK STORE. New Jerseyana, America, Theosophy, Literature. Trenton: Traver's Book Store, [ca. 1936]. 23 p. Caption title. Stitched. Clayton L. Traver's first catalogue, issued after sixty-four years of bookselling, ". partly for profit and partly as a 'Glad to Meet You' to book lovers, and to confess a certain pride in our stock of New Jerseyana." Traver's, founded in 1872 by Clayton Traver's father and continued by Traver and his two sons, remained in business until late 1965, when, like much of the surrounding city of Trenton, it finally died. For most of its existence Traver's specialized in New Jerseyana. A few highlights of this catalogue: James Alexander's copy of Kinsey's Laws, $250; a fine copy in contemporary sheep of the Grants and Concessions, $75; Nevill's Laws, fine in contemporary sheep, $75; Jonathan Elmer's copy of Wilson's Laws in the original boards, $35; a fine copy of Smith's History, $50. For more about Traver, see J. J. Felcone, Clayton L. Traver (1857-1941): Antiquarian Bookseller & New Jerseyana Specialist (Princeton, 2019). Seller Inventory # 11666
