Title page and following leaf have some tape repair. Spine labels have some scraping with loss of a few letters. Gift book plate on front endppaer. ; Book plate of Wm. S. Johnson [William Samuel Johnson], with his coat of arms, on the front endpaper. Johnson was a signer of the U. S. Constitution and a U. S. Senator. Book plate was removed from the original binding, with loss of the outer corners, and reattached here.
