Description:

Book is inscribed by the author to "Ben", on the half-title page. On the adjacent front free end paper is an inscription "To my favorite nephew Ben .", by his aunt, Ophelia Barber; who is found on page 42 of the text describing her life in Elizabethtown, NM, prior to 1920. "She has fond memories of the dance hall on the second floor of a stone building where she was married in 1927. But other memories of Elizabethtown are not so fond. Mrs. Barber left the community for good in 1936. Leaving behind a husband and two daughters in the Elizabethtown Cemetery". Fine writing and wonderful B&W photographs make this book a real treasure. The book has a couple of bumps on the bottom edge of the covers. The BroDart protected jacket has numerous short, closed tears to the extremities, and light rubbing to the covers. Overall this is a clean, bright copy. First edition / printing. Ships in bubble wrap in box. Bookseller Inventory #
