With a small bit of soiling to the front endpaper and first leaf, else fine condition; the jacket has light soiling and a somewhat faded spine. A.J.M. Smith was born in Montreal in 1902 and educated at McGill University and the University of Edinburgh. At the university he was on of the founders and editors of The McGill Fortnightly Revue and early attracted attention for his poems contributed to The Canadian Forum, The Nation, The Dial and the Adelphi.
