Somewhat worn at folds, but no holes or tears. Browning to edges. A 35" x 47" sheet, printed on both sides, folded to approximately 9" x 12". Several areas are featured on the front of this Newsmap: 1/4 of the space is filled with a bright red map of SE Europe; 3 photos show the Army Engineer's rebuilding a destroyed Italian bridge; there's a map of central China; and a 3-photo series depicting a Japanese plane shot down, plummeting "flaming into the sea". The reverse side has a single subject, "Tarawa : The Battle for the Gilberts", including Lt. Col. James Roosevelt's description of the heroic action and death of Col. Gardiner L. Conroy. [A].
