About this title

Wrestling alligators, milking venom from rattlesnakes, refereeing underwater boxing matches and acting as a stand-in on the set of a Tarzan movie--all routine for our hero, Newt Sexton. Newt in the World of Tarzan chronicles Newt's journey during a relatively short part of his life--from the time he leaves his father's farm until he returns to help his mother after his father's death. In between, armed with an unquenchable thirst for adventure, at age 15 he moves into an abandoned shack he calls Camp Nasty and begins to support himself at Sparklin' Waters Resort as a lifeguard, tour guide, valet, alligator hunter, actor and moon-shiner. There he meets Gloria Vanderbilt, sees the FBI take down Dillinger and Ma Barker, and becomes very good friends with Johnny Weissmuller, star of the old Tarzan movies.
