About this Item

Near fine in very-good-plus. not priced clipped; original L13.99 net price showing. Quarter-inch closed tear to top of DJ rear panel. The third Det. Inspector Jack Frost book, and yes, this one is the Constable U.K. first, not one of those "BCA" things with the TV tie-in dust jackets that half the online dealers in the British Isles keep peddling as a "Constable" because they trust their "ISBN lookup" toys instead of opening the damned book and looking. "First published in Great Britain 1992 / By Constable and Company Limited." Pages slightly and evenly age-toned. The rumpled and paperwork-averse Inspector Jack Frost did eventually turn up on television, of course. 312 pp. Reduced from $317. PLEASE NOTE (from our ¿Terms of Sale¿, permanently posted at our ABE Books ¿Storefront¿ page): ¿Cat's Curiosities sells used books. We attempt to identify books which have a damp or musty smell, when we sell them at all. Otherwise, while our books are currently stored in a low-humidity, temperature-controlled, smoke-free location, buyers should assume used books have previously been shelved inside human habitations and have been exposed over the decades to some combination of wood smoke, tobacco smoke, leather dressing, or other aromatic agents unknown to us. We offer no certificates of hypoallergenic purity. Those wishing to make symbolic gestures of support for the prohibition of tobacco and other medicinal plant extracts by shrieking that perfectly normal used books "reek of tobacco" should apply elsewhere.¿ This copy reduced from $317. About this title

Another set of unsolved crimes for television's DI Jack Frost (A Touch of Frost) to stumble through. Read by David Jason, the star of the television series.

From the Back Cover:

'Multiple cases, multiple bodies and lashings of police in-fighting.Fast, furious and funny' Daily Telegraph

A serial killer is terrorizing the senior citizens of Denton, and the local police are succumbing to a flu epidemic. Tired and demoralized, the force has to contend with a seemingly perfect young couple suffering arson attacks and death threats, a suspicious suicide, burglaries, pornographic videos, poison-pen letters...

In uncertain charge of the investigations is Detective Inspector Jack Frost, crumpled, slapdash and foul-mouthed as ever.He tries to cope despite inadequate back-up, but there is never enough time; the unsolved crimes pile up and the vicious killings go on.So Frost has to cut corners and take risks, knowing that his Divisional Commander will throw him to the wolves if anything goes wrong. And for Frost, things always go wrong...

'Meaty police procedural; bawdy, funny...enough material here for cult hero status'Literary Review
