About this Item

A Very Good copy in a Very Good dust jacket showing narrow tanning/soiling along part of the top edge, but visible on the white verso only. One small soil spot at the top edge of the text block. Nicely inscribed and signed by the author in July 1991 (the month before the book's official release): "For Max/Who aided and abetted/more than either of us knows--/Fondly,/Elizabeth/Chapel Hill/20 July 1991/(B-Day + 1)". Ms. Spencer's birthday is 19 july. The context makes us believe this was Max Steele's copy, but we cannot be certain. The inscription is at the half title page. The book is also signed in full at the title page. Bookseller Inventory # 037098
