About this title

Synopsis:

N'nocent Rage is a book of urban poetry that was propelled by the untimely and violent murder of the author's brother Lemont. Kweis's book offers acute insight on the meaning of finding good in a world of poverty, death and other unexplainable events. The book is a volcano of emotions that at times leave you crying from utter joy or shaking from an unidentifiable rage. In Kweisi's book he truly depicts the meaning of art reflecting life.

About the Author:

Kweisi was born Robert E. Dunlap jr. on December 28, 1969 on the southside of Chicago, 123rd and Loomis where he was disciplined by his mother and two olders sisters. Kweisi had a younger brother, Lemont who was brutally murdered execution style in 1992 after stepping in to save a young woman being harrassed by two young men. His umtimely death incited Kweisi to turn his gift of words into spoken words and encourage others to forgive and come to terms with their sorrows and triumphs. Kweisi is one of Chicago's premiere spoken word artisits after being showcased on its number one radio station, WGCI for five years with his show, "Phood Pho Tha Soul." Kweisi has also opened for Gwendolyn Brooks, featured on Poetry Society of America with Robert Pinsky the U.S. Poet Lauterate, National Public Radio, the featured poet on WGN morning news and a host of other televsions and radio shows. Along with media appearances Kweisi has also traveled to numerous elementary, sec! ondary and prestigous colleges to perform his poetry and lead workshops on turning feelings of anger into those of forgiveness and creative energy.
