Recent reback with original spine laid on. A very scarce title by the engineer Septimus Norris, containing a variety of mathematical information on all aspects of locomotive engineering. A good plus copy with some professional restoration done at spine. Some light foxing, some marginal dampstaining to text block, a few areas of erased pencil, contents generally bright and text complete. Bookplate and address of the engineer Louis Nickerson from Johnson, Co., Missouri on front pastedown. A very scarce book in any edition. The first was published in 1852.
