Thick octavo. xxiv; 533 pages. With many black and white illustrations and plates. The cloth on the spine is somewhat mottled otherwise a near fine copy with gilt lettering bright. Conservationist and folklorist Henry W. Shoemaker's copy with his bookplate and signature on the front pastedown. Tipped into this copy is a 27-page 1931 offprint preliminary report, etc. by Charles E. Mohr. This is inscribed by Mohr to Shoemaker. Tipped in on the rear free endpaper is an ANS to Shoemaker from Archibald Roosevelt on his printed stationery. Archibald Roosevelt is Teddy Roosevelt's son. Bookseller Inventory # 16388
