About this Item

Cloth; in full-color photo-illustrated dust jacket. Illustrated throughout. Aside from some light foxing on half-title p., book is fine. Dust jacket very lightly rubbed, else fine. From the library of Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., with his bookplate, and inscribed to him by his daughter, Melissa: "For my darling Dapper -- on your 31st anniversary -- the Indians say, 'How' !? We love you so dearly, ever your Moo + Richard xxxxx." A note from Mrs. Vera Fairbanks, in her hand, explains the pet names. Fairbanks (1909-2000) was an iconic American actor from Hollywood’s Golden Era (his credits include "Gunga Din"), and a highly decorated naval officer of World War II. Bookseller Inventory # JC2959
