About this Item

This 352 page unclipped seminal work First edition Stated, being an increasingly well respected and energetically applauded offering it is proudly presented with great and well deserved hubris by Hirschfeld Galleries in both the publishers original binding and original dustwrapper. The binding is the original greenish shade of gray cloth, and it is rock solid, tight and clean. The pictorial jacket would also be AAA save for the usual very, very light edge chipping around the edges. But not to worry or be sad, for said imperfection is made barely noticeably, since, on the very positive side of things, the jacket is now and forevermore protected from any future ambient abuse and resulting degradation by professionally fitted and applied yet instantly removable Brodart mylar. Endpaper maps. Indexed and photo illustrated. Covers the Huks of the Philippines, Vietnam, Burma, Formosa, and Korea. Also convincingly reveals the harsh French oppression of the native peoples of Indo-China which made it justifiably ripe for Communist plucking. The author looks dispassionately at both sides of the idle wealthy colonizer and hard worked poor colonized issue, and we at Hirschfield Galleries hope only those who similarly read with an objective mind would become the next owner of this seminal work. But enough of the lugubrious however allegorically wise jaw-jacking, enough said of the telluric parameters of select Hirschfeld Galleries' offerings such as this one which take on a life of their own and speak so very loudly for themselves. Read to learn and enjoy; go forth to share and enjoin. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 006178
