About this Item

10th ed. revised and augmented. 453 p. Includes illustrations, diagrams, maps, index. This very thorough travel guide contains 35 maps and 54 city plans and plans of palaces, museums, etc. Most of these are fold-outs, and most are in color. A large railway and steamboat route map is tipped in at the front cover and a large map of North-Eastern Germany is at the end of the text. A separate "Index of Streets and Plans of Berlin," in a paper cover, is bound into the back of the book. It contains a map of the environs of Berlin; general plan of Berlin; tramway plan of Berlin; list of the principal streets, public buildings, etc., of Berlin; and a "Large Plan of Berlin in three sections." One of these pieces is loose, but it appears never to be have been glued or stapled in. This booklet was designed to be detachable. The interior of the book is in excellent condition and the maps and plans appear "as new. " The red cloth cover is somewhat faded on the spine but is in very good condition; the endpapers have split at the hinges and the cover was held to the spine only by cloth bands, but these have been repaired with acid-free, archival transparent tape. All edges are marbled. Bookseller Inventory # 071614NG
