Glossy black board with gold titles on the spine are bright and unworn with a minisule whit stain on the back board, else fine. Spine and hinges firm. Pages unmarked except for a lightly pencilled price on the inside front end paper. Dramatic multi-colored unclipped dustjacket (now in mylar) is bright and unworn with just slight edge wear and rubbing. A very nice copy of this railroad history of the last era of the Steam engines in the United States, before they were replaced by Diesel-Electric locomotives in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
