Approx. 15" x 10" newspaper. Single sheet, printed on both sides with three columns per page. Illustrated ship engraving on mast head. Light scattered foxing to paper and a very small hole (approx. 0.25") on the left front column and the rear right column. Previous owner signature top of page 1 is dated 1882. Page 1 contains articles of the "Ratification's of the Definitive Treaty, inserted in our last" and is signed David Hartley May 1873. The second article has the heading "The United States of America in Congress Assembled" which took place in Philadelphia June 15, 1781 followed by the statement - "We certify the foregoing copies of the respective full powers to be authentic. Paris, Sept. 3, 1783." The third article is dated Sept. 1 from London and contains European news. On page 2 of the paper is news from Charleston, South Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; Philadelphia and New York. Also on page 2 is George Washington's address dated Nov. 26, 1783 New York; and George Washington's last address to his troops recorded "Dec. 8 at Frances Tavern." Three advertisements fill out the remainder of page 2. The Treaty of Paris was signed on September 3, 1783 by representatives of King George the III and representatives of the United States including Ben Franklin, John Jay, Henry Laurens and John Adams.
