Horatio Alger Published a Book with the Same Format and Title (But Not This One) with James French & Co. of Boston, also in 1857. “Nothing to Wear”, Also Published in 1857, was a Social Satire by William Howard Allen Butler and Spawned a Flurry of "Nothing to." Books by Mortimer Thomson, Horatio Alger and Others. Howard's usual pseudonym, according to Madeleine Stern, was "Corry O'Lanus," a name identified by Haynes as belonging, rather, to John Stanton.
