One of 200 numbered copies (of which this is Number 25) out of a total printing of 1000. This copy SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON THE TITLE PAGE: "ILLUMINATINGLY YOURS---MARY HALLOCK GREENWALT". Small quarto sized in silver cloth decorated in gilt;endpapers decorated with Arabic lettering; 412 pps. Illustrated with drawings and diagrams. Very scarce. A fine example, a touch of foxing at the fore edge of the text and the outer edges of the plates. In the illustrated silver dust jacket, some wrinkling and shallow wear at edges and head of spine, couple of minor chips. Mary Hallock-Greenwalt was a Syrian born inventor and pianist, who studied music in Philadelphia and Vienna. She invented a type of visual music which she called "Nourathar" , a term she invented based on the Arabic word for "light". Bookseller Inventory # E4013B
