The set limited to 1000 copies, this number 42. 45 of 53 volumes. LACKS the two volumes of Droll Stories, the two volumes of Repertory, and the last four volumes of Philosophic and Anayltic Studies. The set constains Scenes of Parisian Life (complete in 11 vols); Scenes of Military and Political Life (complete in 5 vols); Scenes of Private Life (Complete in 11 vols); Scenes of Provincial Life (Complete in 10 vols(; Scenes of Country Life (Complete in 3 vols); and Philosophic and Analytic Studies (Vols 1 thru 5). Bound in blue cloth with paper spine labels. Bindings show little wear, a few surface scuffs here and there. The text pages are tight and clean with no marks, no name of previous owner. The spine labels printed in black and red with the red sun faded away. Each volume illustrated with etchings by a variety of French artists: such as, Georges Chardon, Eugene Decisy, Pierre-Salvy-Frederic Teyssonnieres, and Charles-Rene Thevenin.
