8vo. (22 cm.) [4]5-41p. Plus 3p. maps. Illustrated with three black and white maps. Green cloth with gilt letters on the spine. Dust jacket has a black and white photo of the author on the rear panel. Fine with clean cloth, bright gilt and no internal markings. Jacket with small chips at head of spine at upper right front corner, else very good and better. A fictional account of an earthquake along the San Andreas fault in California. Tom Shoso Nakatsukasa was born in Redondo Beach, CA and at the age of fourteen, worked for the U.S. Government in a relocation camp. After spending time in the Marines, Makatsukasa became a research assistant in electronics at Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles. Nakatsukasa lived with his family in Gardena, California.
