About this Item

12mo, wraps, [unopened pages], 73 p., illus. A collection of poetry by Tomas Diaz Bartlett. Diaz Bartlett, was born Feb. 5, 1919 in Tenosique, Tabasco (Mexico), second oldest of 5 brothers. His father left his family at a young age and his mother died when he was 9. He went to school at the National University of Veracruz (Mexico) to become a surgeon. Unforunately, an unexpected and painful illness cut his profession short and he was bedridden for several years. There, he began to write poetry and met his future wife Celia Zarate, who worked as a professional nurse in the same hospital where he was recovering in. Some of his famous works include: Bajamar (1951) and Con Displicencia de Arbol (1955). Bookseller Inventory # 145167
