Huston's lovely and informative book is a folksy rumination on the process and lore of small-farm-based maple syrup production, complete with types of woods used for spiles, and tips for greater health and production of trees in ones sugarbush. Then comes a 54-page (!) section on "Maple Sugar Making in Literature", followed by several sections following the rural calendar through Spring, Autumn and Winter. 204 pp., one or two torn, but all there. Faintly musty. Chock full of useful information. Bookseller Inventory #
