About this Item

Originally published in 1976, this book is the second impression printed in 1978, 128 pages, profusely illustrated with b&w photographs. "In the recent years of reprinting Reginald Hine's celebrated History of Hitchin has led to a fast growing interest in the past of this fine old Hertfordshire market town, and this interest has prompted further examinantion of the extensive archive in the Hitch Museum. One of the principal tresrues is a very fine collection of fascinating and hitherto unpublished photographs which record the town's aspect, its people and their lives in late Victorian days. Nearly two hundred of these, many taken by the two Hitch photographers T.B. Latchmore and his son, are now reproduced here." FINE- HARDCOVER, VERY GOOD DUST JACKET. Size: 4to - over 9" - 12" Tall, Oblong. Bookseller Inventory # 016633
