This is a 3 x 2 inch original ceramic portrait mounted on green velvet deep-set under glass in sturdy fine wood frame 6 x 51/2 inches. Ready to hang on a wall. James Tasie, Scottish 1735-1799) was one of the modellers for the Wedgewood Company. The portrait is of Alexander Waugh, Scottish Divine, 1735-1827. The date 1794, Waugh's name and signature of Tassie can be seen on lower left corner of the cameo. Hard to tell when cameo was framed but perhaps circa 1900. Guaranteed original artwork. Ephemera.
