Original photograph 7-3/4 x 4-3/4 inches mounted professionally on heavy stock card 5-1/4 x 8-1/2 inches. Photograph shows old man with full beard surrounded by pieces of wood holding axe splitting wood. In pencil on verso is written: "Blind Man Splitting Wood Stoddard Negus." A man named Stoddard Negus lived 1820-1899 which could be him but we do not know for sure. Photograph is good; card is near Good with some fraying along top edge of card. first edition; ephemera.
