Morgan's only book entirely of supernatural and fantasy shorts, generally also with nautical settings. Title tale has weird mesmerism; "Last Battleship" and "Absolute Zero" feature weird inventions; "The Baby" depicts spiritual communication with a mentally retarded adult. In "Equation" blood-transfusion also transfers emotional traits. "Grinding of the Mills" depicts parallel fates due to astrological powers. "The Mate and His Soul" features a projected Id-monster. "Sleepwalker" has telepathy and reincarnation. "Twins" & "Brothers" both portray sympathetic powers. "Voices" and "Kismet" show reincarnation & Fate respectively.
