Prefatory Note by Harry Graff, State Supervisor, The Ohio Writers' Project in which authorship is credited to Myron Flechtner and editing to R.D. Sims and E.M. Hawes. Includes six "Drawings of Early Gallipolis" by William Mark Young; four pages of b/w photographs; Sources (bibliography). Gallipolis, the third oldest settlement in Ohio, was settled by refugees from the French Revolution. The pamphlet reviews the town's early history and famous citizens.
