Stated first edition. Illustrated paper covered boards with a black cloth spine. No jacket. Small folio. Unpaginated. Color and black and white illustrations throughout. A children's tale following the adventures of the boy Ola and his travels through Northern Scandinavia, incorporating Scandinavian folk tales into the story. Ingri and Edgar Parin D'Aulaire were noted book authors and illustrators, most often collaborating on works, and winning the Caldecott Medal in 1940 for their book on Abraham Lincoln. GOOD+ condition. General browning and fading to the covers. Minor soiling, with a small area of staining to the lower rear cover. Extremities scuffed.
