Description:

SIGNED BY AUTHOR in fountain pen on title page. 108pp. B/w illustrations. Frontispiece is missing, but plate in rear with blue tinted photo is present. There is also a gift inscription in pencil on front free endpaper states "Aug. 31, 1941 - From author and Mrs. McG. to Mrs. Bert Moore." Pages are age toned and a bit fragile. All pages have a moisture stain to top margins, across corner, and a little bit down the fore edges - no text is affected and the stains are fairly light. Verso of half title page has some ink stains near the bottom edge, the largest of which is one-inch x 1/2-inch. Fore edges of front free endpaper and half title page have some tiny chips, and one leaf has a one-inch closed tear to fore edge at center. Pasted to the verso of the last page is a newspaper clipped photo of the author dated in pencil 1954. Paper covers are in a plastic dust jacket sleeve that was apparently shortened to be able to fit the book. Covers are completely separated from text block, and have a wood pattern. Front cover was vertically torn in half and taped inside and outside. Top front cover corner is missing, and top front spine corner is also missing. Other cover corners are creased. Front cover is also cracked along spine and the crack is almost a tear. Bottom cover spine is chipped near staple. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall Selling online since 1999.
