4 volumes. Engraved title page vignette in all four volumes by Isaac Taylor; bookplate of Charlotte Hunnewell Martin in all four front paste-downs. Half brown morocco, marbled boards and end-papers. Spines with soberly gilt-ruled compartments framing plain gilt decorations; gilt-lettered author, title, and volume numbers. Top edges gilt. Vol. 2 has "second edition" on half-title. Front cover v. 4 detached; front free end-paper v.1 detached. Joints vols. 1-3 rubbed but holding. All corners rubbed. Title page vignettes have bled through half titles. Text lightly age-darkened.
