A second inscription following the above reads as follows: "To Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Woodring in appreciation of their friendship for my mother and sister from Leland W. Cutler, August 6, 1948". With annotating by the author concerning most chapters. Book has spine label. Slip case: spine label; damp spotting front and rear covers; small split bottom of spine; slight wear to opening edges. 81 pages. Page sides and bottoms are uncut. Book measures 8 1/4 x 11 1/4. In the Introduction the author notes: "In this book I set down some things that I have said from time to time. I make no claim of virtue for the words except that they were spoken on occasions when I tried to say the things I felt".
