About this Item

"Oology is the branch of zoology that deals with the study of eggs, especially birds' eggs. It can also be applied to the hobby of collecting wild birds' eggs (which is now illegal in many jurisdictions). Oology includes the study of the breeding habits of birds, and the study of their nests. (The study of birds' nests is sometimes called caliology)." (quoted from Wikipedia -- I had to look this one up). This little booklet begins at page 73 and goes to page 88; text has articles on curious nesting places; "An Ornithological Mixture"; the brown creeper; the attitude of the whippoorwill when calling; finding a hummingbird's nest; a poem about ornithology by Neil Posson; other articles, readers' letters, and lots of advertisements, many of them illustrated. Staples are rusty, paper is starting to disintegrate at the spine and outer edge, text has small stains/spots and chips/tears/creases at the edges, but is in very good reading condition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # NA02858
