About this Item

Inscribed: ÒTo Karen, who is simply the best, John Huston, ÔThe DeadÕ, 12 Feb Ô87.Ó Creating ÔThe DeadÕ, adapted from the James Joyce short story, was John HustonÕs last labor of love. He directed the film from a wheelchair and using an oxygen tank, Huston managed to create his last masterwork which upon its release, after his passing, was universally acclaimed by critics. This copy signed on the set as indicated in the inscription is obviously one of the last copies of HustonÕs autobiography he inscribed. Signed on February 12th, Huston died only months later on August 28, 1987. Near fine in a lightly used dust jacket with a one inch tear to the bottom edge of the front panel and a 1/4 inch tear at the spine fold.
